Seminar Title:  Reiki for Healing & Stress Reduction

Parapsychology Study Center will host Mary Morales, a Reiki master, for our Sept. 23rd meeting. It will be held in the Olympus Room of Radisson Hotel at 8721 Madison Blvd., Madison, AL 35758 at 6:30 pm.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique for healing, that provides incredible stress reduction and relaxation.

Ms. Morales wrote the following,

The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words, Rei, meaning Universal Force, and Ki, meaning Vital Life Force Energy, so the combined two words refers to Universal Life Force, a combination of physical life and spiritual force. Reiki can be defined as a non-physical healing energy, made up of life force energy, is how we are alive.

How does Reiki work?

Reiki treats the whole body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects. Many have experienced miraculous results. “Laying on hands” Reiki is a simple natural and safe method of healing, it has been effective in virtually every known illness and always creates a beneficial effect, it works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques, to relieve side effects, promotes recovery, and it works wonderful with massage therapy, also beneficial to cancer patients after their treatments side effects. Reiki will never harm anybody in any possible way! Reiki is very spiritual in nature, but it is not a religion. In fact Reiki is not dependent on any belief at all to work.

Clients, after a Reiki session report things like: I never felt anything like this before, I feel so wonderful and relaxed, I feel so good, no pain in my arm. The statements go on and on. Its something that you have to experience to understand. There are really no words to describe Reiki.

I am from Florida, where I lived most of my life, until 2004 that I came to Alabama.

I’ve practiced Reiki for many years, in Florida and Alabama. My mission is to propagate Reiki and make it available for anyone that wants to benefit from it.

I became a Universal Reiki Master in 1998 and Karuna Master in 2001.

From 2009 to 2010:- Conducted a Reiki Clinic at Cathy Holmes Massage Therapy shop in Decatur, Al.

In 2008:- Conference at Calhoun Community College for a class of Massage Therapy students on the benefits of Reiki along with Massage Therapy.

In 1999:- Miami International Book Fair-Conference on Reiki: introduction and general knowledge.
